Members bring your Valentine to a fabulous garden! On Saturday, February 14, 2026, a sumptuous garden will be open to members of the San Diego Horticultural Society (SDHS). Stroll this 2-acre garden in Olivenhain and see the paradise created over the last 30 years. The garden is a mixture of plants ranging from drought tolerant to tropical. Some special features are the lath house, tool shed, koi ponds, and numerous pieces of art. As a bonus, you can also visit the art studio, where you may purchase handcrafted one-of-a-kind jewelry, fused glass art, and other stunning creations. The garden is open to SDHS members only for this exclusive free visit. If you are not yet a SDHS member you may join online at sdhs.org. Members will be emailed a registration form around February 1, 2026. These regular free open garden events are just one benefit of being a SDHS member – more information is on our website. Celebrate Valentines Day with a visit to the colorful and romantic 2-acre Olivenhain garden with views to La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe and a gentle slope it provides the foundation of a special garden. The garden is now over 30 years old and once sunny areas have now become shaded. The garden is a mixture of plants ranging from drought tolerant to tropical. Some special features are the lath house, tool shed, koi ponds and numerous pieces of art. 

  • Garden art available for sale.

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes.

  • Carpooling is recommended.
