You can speak for the trees...

The Balboa Park Conservancy is looking for volunteers to help preserve, protect, and renew Balboa Park’s urban forest. Through their custom Tree Steward training program with Tree San Diego, volunteers will also gain skills in tree identification, proper planting techniques, irrigation and watering needs for new and established trees, and general park maintenance issues.

The Conservancy is looking for volunteers who are:

  • Passionate about trees

  • Interested in learning to identify different trees

  • Able to walk around the Park to observe and monitor trees

  • Willing to give 6-8 hours monthly

  • Over the age of 18

In return for participating in the program, volunteers will:

  • Become a part of a team that supports environmental sustainability and human health

  • Receive free training for proficiency in planting, watering and monitoring San Diego region’s trees

  • Receive formal certification for each skill set mastered
