The Enchanting Encinitas Garden Tour and the SDHS County Fair garden team could use your help. These are two of our most important events of the year, and you don't want to miss out on all the fun!
Garden Tour
There is still time to volunteer for the Garden Tour, Enchanting Encinitas, on April 7. Volunteers receive a free ticket to visit the gardens before or after their shift. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Karen Krugman if you want to participate. SDHS Garden at the San Diego County Fair
Once again, SDHS will create a garden for the San Diego County Fair. Last year's entry garnered significant monetary awards and recognition for the Hort Society under the leadership of Terry Chamberlain. Terry is heading up the team again this year, working with the Fair's theme, "Living The Sweet Life". If you would like to join the team as a designer, constructor, general worker bee, plant gatherer, or in any other capacity, please contact Karen Krugman. Initial planning begins in early April with garden building in May. The Fair opens in June, at which time we will need lots of volunteers to host the garden. Watch for a call for Fair exhibit hosts in May.
