NEWS: Enchanting Encinitas Update: Two Gardens Added

The April 7, 2018 SDHS garden tour, Enchanting Encinitas, is just one week away. This year’s tour will feature eight extraordinary gardens, plus two front yard gardens and a community parkway planting. We are excited to share the news that two of the gardens are recent additions.

One garden, called Contemporary Chic, features an outdoor kitchen, bar, and dining area. The outdoor living space is completed with a fireplace and cozy living room and play area for the four children—all adorned with the sleek lines of Anigozanthos, Aloe, Carex, Cordyline, as well as succulent wall gardens.

Palm Paradise was originally owned by palm aficionados who valued indoor-outdoor living.

Another garden, Palm Paradise, similarly features true indoor-outdoor living at its best. Stepping into the front entry, the back walls of the home open to a huge covered patio with an outdoor living room flanked by a stream that rushes down the hillside. This home’s original owners were palm aficionados and they planted many exotic palms, most of which are now mature plants.

The Enchanting Encinitas self-guided tour of beautiful gardens showcases all that San Diego horticulture has to offer. View garden descriptions online. Tickets are available online only and this tour always sells out, so purchase your tickets today!
