As our gardens wind down for winter, we are winding up for our Spring Garden Tour! Our tour will be in beautiful Encinitas on April 07, 2018, so if you already have your 2018 calendar in hand, be sure to mark the date. Next year’s tour will feature gardens of professionals and dedicated amateurs alike.

The Horticultural Society’s early season tour focuses on plant-rich gardens that belong to people who have been collecting plants for a lifetime. Each garden has its own personal style.

We are seeking volunteers who can coordinate vendors, artists, signage, online sales, and, of course, we need lots of volunteers for the day of the tour. Volunteering for the tour is a great way to meet new people and to learn more about our favorite obsession: plants and gardens.

The Spring Garden Tour is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from the tour fund college scholarships for local horticulture students and programs that promote our mission of educating residents about gardening in this rich horticultural environment with so many microclimates.

If you can give a few hours a month between now and April 11 to make our event a success, we would be delighted to have your support.

Please contact Karen Krugman at volunteer@sdhort.org to join the team.
