SDHS SCHOOL GARDEN GRANT: Application period opens on July 1, 2021

San Diego Horticultural Society School Garden Grant of 2021

The San Diego Horticultural Society supports gardening education in San Diego County schools.

Our Mission To inspire and educate the people of San Diego County to grow and enjoy plants, and to create beautiful, environmentally responsible gardens and landscapes.


Our Vision To champion regionally appropriate horticulture in San Diego County.

Supporting our mission, the Hort Society wants the youth of San Diego County to experience a school garden. To help a school garden grow, the Hort Society will donate

  • $1,000 to one school in San Diego County, and

  • $500 to eight schools

The Hort Society will choose awardees based on the submission of their online application.

Application period opens on July 1, 2021 and closes on July 31, 2021. Recipients will be notified of the award Aug 2021. Grant funds must be spent within 6 months of award and receipts are requested to document funds spent.
